Tony Contratto

Short Bio

Tony Contratto writes books, this much we know. In his free time, he is also a small business owner and nonprofit director. Tony’s philosophy is that the most gripping and immersive tales happen in our imagination. In the spirit of that ideology, Tony spent several years formulating the story of his first novel within his head, before ever putting the proverbial pen to paper. Originally from Southern California, Tony now resides in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Author Biography

Tony Contratto writes novels geared towards both adult and YA audiences. He has also published a short poetry collection under the pseudonym Hayden Jowell.

In addition to writing, Tony currently serves as the Executive Director for nonprofit Havasu Helping Girls, is a small business owner of Patriot Swimwear and Apparel (and Henley de Vere Press), and works on research projects in the women’s health field.

Tony’s first foray into writing the fantasy genre was as a teenager. Working with a friend, the two co-wrote a series of plays meant for performance by their local church youth choir. Unfortunately, the vision they had for a Christmas play entitled “The Rhapisiatic Apocalypse” wasn’t shared by others and the project’s only copy resides on a dusty bookshelf.

Tony grew up in Southern California, residing at times in the cities of Fullerton, Newport Beach, Chino, Rancho Cucamonga, Hesperia, and Apple Valley. He now lives in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
